Video projection facilitates the painting and repainting of tangible objects. The still life remains untouched, open to all possible paint job futures. It is the convenience of infinitely revisions, the angel/devil of digital mediums recreated in analog form.
The real-time process of remotely coating these objects in colored light proved oddly pleasurable. Indirectly passing the brush across a sphere produced a pleasurable calm – convinced my hand was moving smoothly, following its round contour. While in reality, moving straight across a flat surface.
I’ll do more of these. They’re quite relaxing.
